THE ARMORIALE MOVEMENT: A WITNESS OF HISTORY
A BRIDGE OVER THREE CENTURIES
At the heart of this pocket watch lies a mechanical movement dating from 1890 and signed A. Golay Leresche & Fils in Geneva, showcasing a chronograph minute repeater.
In 1985, Michel Parmigiani restored the movement and enriched it with a perpetual calendar developed in his Ateliers. Today, the movement showcases a chronograph, a minute repeater, and a perpetual calendar featuring a moon phase set against an aventurine sky and hand-hammered moons in white gold. The Armoriale movement embodies the very essence of luxury watchmaking – an exquisite fusion of history and innovation, serving as an authentic bridge between centuries.
The Armoriale movement beats at a frequency of 2.5 Hz, equivalent to 18,000 vibrations per hour, providing a leisurely and refined experience for watch enthusiast.
This exceptional calibre, born of its heritage and unique features, effortlessly incorporates all the essential functions and complexities inherent in the art of watchmaking. Every facet of this movement, from its gears to the intricately engraved and polished bridges, serves as a testament to Parmigiani Fleurier’s exceptional mastery.

THE CRAFTMANSHIP BEHIND L’ARMORIALE
MASTER OF THE ART OF ENAMELLING
L’ Armoriale pocket watch embodies exceptional craftsmanship. One of its distinctive features is its intricate and richly layered colour palette.
Each recess on the masterpiece is hand-carved in white gold and filled with grand feu enamel in varying shades of red, yellow, or brown.
The pocket watch’s concentric geometric design not only captivates the eye but also creates a mesmerising visual effect. As one’s gaze moves toward the centre, the intricate patterns gracefully diminish in size, offering a captivating and awe-inspiring journey.
The 18-carat white gold case back of L’ Armoriale stands as a grand feu enamel masterpiece. The patterns on the case, have been meticulously engraved, and each cavity has been filled with coloured translucent enamel. This intricate technique creates subtle shades and a unique texture, bestowing upon the case a captivating visual depth.
The enamel shades used on the dial are part of a carefully curated palette, featuring hues of yellow, red, and translucent brown. Each shade is perfectly balanced, creating a harmonious and enchanting visual effect.
MASTER IN THE ART OF ENGRAVING
The dial, with its rich brown hue and intricate ‘Mezzo Vibrato’ motif engraving, represents a harmonious fusion of craftsmanship, artistry, and technical skill.
Around the dial, an engraved ring elegantly echoes the almond motifs seen on the case and lugs, contributing to the design’s elegance. The white gold counters, intricately engraved and adorned with delicate rings, add a subtle refinement to the overall composition.
The 18-carat white gold case of L’Armoriale features the Maison’s signature motifs, a consistent presence in our annual unique creations for Michel Parmigiani’s birthday. The Master’s artistic prowess shines in this case, with a pattern on the handles creating a captivating depth and texture. Every detail is meticulously hand-engraved.
The caseband itself is a masterpiece, adorned with chiseled palmettes and polished fluting for added sophistication. The masterful touch extends to the dial, where a stylised “Florentine” motif elevates its refinement. Executed with precision, every element contributes to timeless beauty. The same meticulousness extends to the minute repeater latch, pendant, and crown, all finely engraved for an overarching touch of elegance.
THE ART OF THE CHAIN
The chain’s motif mirrors the hand-engraved patterns on the watch case, as well as on the latch, establishing an elegant aesthetic continuity. The watch chain is shaped by hand with meticulous precision. Each individual link of the chain has been carefully designed to ensure maximum flexibility and durability, while upholding our distinctive aesthetic and style.
The mastery of our craftsmen is evident in the creation of an extraordinarily fine and delicate chain that gracefully follows the flow of gravity, adding an element of great elegance to the pocket watch.
