THE SOUND OF
THIRTY YEARS
OF INDEPENDENT
HIGH-HOROLOGY

For thirty years, we have shaped our vision of watchmaking through understanding: of historic objects, of mechanical architecture, of the hand, of sound, of time.

Our Maison was born from restoration. From the patient study of exceptional objects, Michel Parmigiani learned that the past is never a static archive, but a living source of knowledge, one capable of inspiring contemporary creation.

Created to mark our thirtieth anniversary, the Carillon Tourbillon is one of the most intimate expressions of this culture. Limited to five examples, it brings together a four-gong minute repeater, a 60-second tourbillon, a minimum ten-day power reserve and a hand-hammered Morning Blue dial within an 18ct white gold construction conceived for sound, light and mechanical clarity.

More than an anniversary timepiece, it is a statement of origin: a creation in which restoration becomes invention, complication becomes culture and sound becomes memory.

THE MAISON’S SOUND SIGNATURE

With the Carillon Tourbillon, we enter one of the most intimate territories of haute horlogerie: the art of sounding time.

This creation reflects a conviction that has guided us since our origins: before creating, one must first understand. Understand historic objects, their architecture, their energy, their balance and the intelligence they carry through time.

Entirely conceived, developed, assembled and finished within our Manufacture, the Carillon Tourbillon brings together the expertise of our watchmakers, artisans and restorers in a single acoustic architecture.

ARCHITECTURE, LIGHT
AND SOUND

The Carillon Tourbillon expresses modernity through purity, light and architectural clarity. Every line serves the mechanism.

Crafted in 18ct white gold, the redesigned case does more than frame the movement. In a chiming timepiece, the case participates in the transmission of sound — in its density, clarity and duration. Its vertical gadroons, inspired by the classical columns cherished by Michel Parmigiani, give the piece its architectural presence.

Beneath the glass-box sapphire crystal, the hand-hammered Morning Blue dial opens the view to the visible hammers and four serpentine gongs, inspired by a historic Perrin Frères pocket watch restored in our workshops.

Here, sound becomes form. Mechanics are not hidden behind design; they become the design.

A MELODY IN FOUR NOTES

The Carillon Tourbillon gives time a complete and nuanced voice through four distinct gongs.

A low note sounds the hours.
A high note marks the minutes.
Two additional tones express the quarters.

Together, they create a four-note chime: precise, harmonious and immediately recognisable.

The striking mechanism is regulated by an integrated flywheel, ensuring a constant cadence from the first note to the last. Its sound is not theatrical. It is controlled, intimate and deeply architectural.

THE VISION OF
MICHEL PARMIGIANI

In celebrating our thirtieth anniversary, we honour more than the founding of an independent Maison. We honour the vision of Michel Parmigiani, who devoted his life to understanding time before creating it.

Through restoration, Michel Parmigiani learned to listen to historic objects: to understand the intelligence of their architecture, the logic of their movements and the knowledge passed through generations of hands.

For him, restoration was never an act of nostalgia. It was a discipline of knowledge, a way to preserve, decipher and transform the past into contemporary creation.

Our Maison was born from this conviction. Thirty years later, it continues to guide our future.

THE BEGINNING OF A MAISON

On 29 May 1996, Michel Parmigiani and Pierre Landolt shared a symbolic handshake at the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne.

More than the creation of a watch brand, this moment marked the beginning of a shared vision rooted in trust, friendship and a profound passion for horology.

With the support of the Sandoz Family Foundation and the recognition of Michel Parmigiani’s exceptional talent, our Maison was created with a rare ambition: to build a Manufacture where restoration, craftsmanship and innovation could exist in constant dialogue.

PERRIN FRÈRES:
FROM RESTORATION
TO RESONANCE

At the origin of the Carillon Tourbillon lies a foundational piece: a pocket watch signed Perrin Frères, made in Neuchâtel in the early nineteenth century, part of the Sandoz Collection and restored in our workshops in 2000.

We did not approach this historic masterpiece as a model to reproduce, but as a living object to understand. It carried within it a knowledge of sound, energy, balance and mechanical architecture, extending to the serpentine form of its gongs.

PERRIN FRÈRES:
FROM RESTORATION
TO RESONANCE

The Carillon Tourbillon reinterprets this formal signature within a contemporary construction. Not as imitation, but as transmission.

This lineage expresses one of our deepest convictions: history is not a static archive. It is a source of creation.

A CALIBRE TUNED FOR RESONANCE

At the heart of the Carillon Tourbillon lies the manual-winding calibre PF950, composed of 456 hand-assembled components.

Its construction was conceived not to demonstrate complexity, but to organise energy, duration and sound with absolute coherence. Two superimposed barrels power the movement, ensuring a minimum ten-day power reserve. A third barrel is dedicated to the striking mechanism, preserving the regularity of the calibre when the minute repeater is activated.

Visible through the open architecture, the mechanism reveals the choreography of sounding time: the release of energy, the cadence of the hammers, the vibration of the gongs and the regulation of the chime.

In the Carillon Tourbillon, the movement is not only a motor. It is an instrument.

THE HANDS BEHIND THE SOUND

In the Carillon Tourbillon, savoir-faire is not applied after construction. It belongs to the architecture itself.

From the serpentine gongs that shape the acoustic identity of the piece, to the mezzo vibrato engraving that gives the movement its visual resonance, to the hand-hammered Morning Blue dial in 18ct white gold, each gesture contributes to the presence of this exceptional timepiece.

Here, craftsmanship is not ornament. It is a language of sound, light and transmission, carried by the hand and revealed through time.

THE SERPENTINE SIGNATURE

The four serpentine gongs are among the most distinctive signatures of the Carillon Tourbillon.
Visible beneath the glass-box sapphire crystal, their long undulating curves shape the acoustic architecture of the watch and give the piece its singular presence.

Inspired by the Perrin Frères pocket watch restored in our workshops, they become more than a reference to history. They structure the watch acoustically, visually and spatially.

Here, the gong is not simply a component. It becomes form, rhythm and memory.

MAKING RESONANCE VISIBLE

The movement itself becomes a field of expression. Its components are adorned with mezzo vibrato, a decorative language previously explored on the dial of the Armoriale, our emblematic Objet d’Art, and now transposed into the heart of the calibre.

Executed entirely by hand, surface after surface, this demanding engraving technique gives the material an almost vibrating presence.

What the carillon makes heard, the mezzo vibrato makes visible.

MORNING BLUE, HAMMERED INTO LIGHT

The Morning Blue dial is crafted in hand-hammered 18ct white gold, extending the dialogue between material, light and vibration.

Between silver and azure, the colour interacts with the metal without concealing it, allowing the surface to shift with every change of light.

This hammered texture has become one of the defining aesthetic signatures of our thirtieth anniversary, echoing the TORIC Anniversary creations. It expresses a vision of the hand we hold deeply: a living gesture, never standardised, through which each surface carries its own subtle variation.
